About Castle Home Management

Castle Home Management is bonded and insured and is an accredited member of The National Home Watch Association since 2013. Sheila is currently an Advisory Board Member along with being on the Best Practices Committee and the Membership Committee for the National Home Watch Association.

Castle Home Management covers everything from walking the exterior of your home, using binoculars to check your roof, collecting mail from your post box, removing packages from your porch, checking your boats and dock, to the interior visual checks of your circuit breakers (if there has been a power outage), plumbing (running the taps to the sinks, baths and showers, flushing toilets and waiting for the tanks to fill), and HVAC (adjusting thermostats to seasonal settings, etc.)

We can liaise with local service providers as needed, open and close-up your home when you visit and even go shopping before you arrive so when you return to your home, you can relax the moment you step inside!

Castle Home Checks was founded in 2013 by residents, Sheila and Wayne Smith, when they saw a need in Georgia’s Lake County to provide high quality home watch services for absent homeowners. The business was expanded in 2019 to include Concierge Services and is now Castle Home Management.

Born in Surrey, England, Sheila has a property career spanning more than 35+ years and brings a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience to Castle Home Management from the disciplines of Property Management, Disaster Management, Property Sales and Rentals, Refurbishments, and Inventory Control.

Prior to moving to Reynolds Lake Oconee with husband Wayne, Sheila spent nine years as the Property Manager in a prestigious independent real estate agency based in Virginia Water, Surrey (home of the Wentworth Golf Club and BMW World Championship) where she managed executive homes similar to those located at Lake Oconee. Some of Sheila’s tenants were British and Foreign Royalty, Celebrities and Sports Personalities, CEOs, and Presidents of Fortune 500 Companies.

A native of Georgia, Wayne Smith has a professional career spanning more than 40+ years. Wayne is a retired Government and Civil Law Enforcement Officer, with wide-ranging experience in Disaster Management, Estate Management, and Facilities Management plus a Certification in Fire Fighting.
